On January 24, 1984, Apple Computer Inc.' S chairman Steve Jobs took to the stage of the Apple's annual shareholders meeting in Cupertino, to show off the very first Macintosh personal computer in a live demonstration. Macintosh 128 came bundled with what was later called the Mac OS, but then known simply as the System Software. Viewing your Apple Messages history is as simple as opening your Messages app and reviewing your conversations! You can also view the media (e.g., pictures and videos) from inside any given conversation. If you're missing messages you had before your last backup, you can also access these messages on iCloud and restore them, or use iTunes. This information is a huge help, thank you all so much. (and mactracker.ca is terrific!) But, in addition to the OS history itself, I was trying to find version history/system requirements, or maybe more accurately phrased RELEASE NOTES, for the individual Apps and utilities (iTunes, Preview, Mail, Stickies, TextEdit, iChat, Address Book, Disk Utility, etc.).

Mac OS X, called macOS these days, first launched as a public beta in the autumn of 2000. Things have changed a lot since then. Stephen Hackett, a blogger and Mac collector, documents this evolution in a massive database of screenshots, all taken on Mac hardware, that’s live as of today. Oct 10, 2019 In 1984, Apple introduced its most successful product yet — the Macintosh, a personal computer that came with a built-in screen and mouse. The machine featured a GUI, an operating system known as System 1 (the earliest version of Mac OS), and a number of software programs, including the word processor MacWrite and the graphics editor MacPaint.
